TO CITY, HEALTH AND LIFESTYLES EDITORS:

MORE Magazine Teams Up with, Equinox Fitness Clubs, Step Up Women's Network
                            For the MORE Marathon

NEW YORK, Dec. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- MORE magazine announced today that it is teaming up with New York Road Runners to host the first annual MORE Marathon, the first marathon for women over 40. The announcement was made today by Susan Crandell, Editor-in-Chief of MORE, a Meredith Corporation (NYSE: MDP) publication.

"It's a real statement about the power of women. At the first New York City Marathon, not a single woman finished the race. Now, all the entrants will be women," says Crandell.

The MORE Marathon will be held on March 21, 2004 in New York City's Central Park and will be open to women 40 years and older. The full 26.2 miles can be run by individual runners or as a team of two, with each woman running 13.1miles. (Under 40's can run with someone who is 40+ as part of the two-person team.)

To ensure that all participants are in the best possible shape, Equinox Fitness Clubs and New York Road Runners have set up training sessions for racers. Equinox will host special MORE Marathon training classes in select gyms in and around NYC and New York Road Runners will sponsor several clinics at the NYRR Headquarters at 9 East 89th Street. Classes will run throughout January, February and March and are open to anyone who signs up for the MORE Marathon. Additionally, Equinox will be hosting promotional days, during which everyone is encouraged to come and get information on the MORE Marathon. The first day is scheduled for Wednesday, November 19th from 4:00 - 7:00 at the Equinox Training Club at Broadway and 92nd Street. Race registration will begin on December 17th.

"We are so excited to be launching this groundbreaking event that celebrates the strength and accomplishment of women over 40," says Crandell. "Our partners are the best-of-the-best and our trainees are in for a life-changing experience!"

MORE magazine is also proud to announce that Step Up Women's Network will be the Marathon charity. Step Up Women's Network is a nonprofit, membership organization dedicated to strengthening community resources for women and girls. Additionally, MORE has also partnered with SkyTeam, the global airline alliance partnering of Aeromexico, Air France, Alitalia, CSA Czech Airlines, Delta Air Lines and Korean Air, as well as Eckerd Drugs.
