Career Education Says Gibbs College`s Current Accreditation Extended Through April 30th 2004 - Update
(RealTimeTraders.com) - Tuesday, Career Education Corporation (CECO), a provider of private, for-profit post-secondary education, announced that the Gibbs College, Montclair, campus’ current grant of accreditation has been extended through April 30th 2004 by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools.
The Accrediting Council has deferred further action on the new grant until it receives additional information requested from Gibbs College/Montclair.
Career Education said the request for information is routine and does not relate to a wrongful termination lawsuit filed against the school by a former placement director.
The Accrediting Council has specifically requested Gibbs College/Montclair to provide a 1957 college transcript for one of the College’s instructors, documentation that eight specified faculty members participated in faculty development programs. The Council has also requested Gibbs College to produce a plan to complete the education for students enrolled in the telecommunications program no longer offered by the college, and a revised catalog and television advertisements reflecting agreed upon changes.
Career Education Corp. is currently up 28 cents at $37.90.
