Pulitzer Subsidiary Acquires Western World In Bandon, Oregon - Update
(RealTimeTraders.com) - Friday, Pulitzer Inc. (PTZ) revealed that its subsidiary Pulitzer Newspapers, Inc. has acquired the assets of Western World from Western World Enterprises of Bandon, Oregon for an undisclosed amount.
Pulitzer said that Western World, with a paid weekly circulation of 2,700, would continue to function as a separate publication with its own content, news mission and identity. The company added that it would retain the Western World staffing and news/business offices in Bandon and will be printed on The World's presses in Coos Bay.
The company noted that the transaction includes an annual visitor guide, a telephone directory, and a free daily news and advertising flier called "Coffee Break."
Greg Stevens, president and publisher of Southwestern Oregon Publishing, stated, “ Combining the forces of The World and Western World under common ownership will enable us to strengthen our focus on community news, and provide advertisers expanded access to a larger audience.”
PTZ is currently trading down $0.07 at $49.94 on a volume of 50,100 shares.
