NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 13, 2003--NBC, America's Olympic Network, and Clear Channel Advantage, the preeminent provider of media-marketing initiatives that enable advertisers and their agencies to reach and motivate today's busy, "Gone From Home(TM)" consumers, today announced a joint marketing alliance for the next five Olympic Games.
The partnership pairs the nation's No. 1 television network with the nation's largest radio broadcaster and leading live entertainment producer to effectively reach 3-out-of-4 Americans. The joint announcement was made today by John Miller, Co-President, The NBC Agency and Don Howe, President, Clear Channel Advantage.
The agreement begins with the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, which commence with the Opening Ceremony one year from today - August 13, 2004. The deal extends through the 2012 Olympic Games to be held in a host city yet to be determined.
"Combining the nation's No. 1 television network with the Clear Channel Advantage platforms will take NBC's Olympic promotion to a new level," said Miller. "We are constantly searching for creative ways to effectively promote to an audience that has become increasingly more difficult to reach. This long-term partnership with Clear Channel Advantage provides a way for NBC to go beyond its platforms and further promote the Olympics."
Howe said: "Clear Channel and NBC have a strong history of collaborating to build unprecedented excitement for the network's programming. We're thrilled that NBC recognizes the power of our platform to reach people wherever and whenever they are gone from home, and look forward to creating multiple promotional tie-ins surrounding the network's Olympic coverage."
