Jeffrey T. Stevenson, a Managing Partner, is also Co-Chief Executive Officer of Veronis Suhler Stevenson, and a Senior Managing Member of the General Partner of the Fund. He joined the firm in 1982 shortly after its formation and has been the head of its private equity business since its first investment in 1989. Mr. Stevenson serves as the President of each of the Equity Funds, approves all capital commitments, and directs the investment activities of the Equity Funds. Previously, Mr. Stevenson was Executive Vice President in charge of corporate finance at VSS, a department he founded.
VSS Private Equity funds have grown from $57 million in 1987 to its current fund of $1 billion. Across its three funds to date, VSS Private Equity funds have invested in or acquired 33 companies (and over 145 add-on acquisitions) with an aggregate purchase price of approximately $6 billion. The companies in which VSS invests span broadcasting, cable, publishing, trade shows, information and marketing services, and other related media and communications industries operating in North America and Europe. VSS employs a platform build-up strategy whereby it seeks to invest in growth-oriented businesses with an opportunity to expand its core franchise position through like-kind add-on acquisitions.
Mr. Stevenson currently serves as a director of De Telefoongids, Chemical Week Associates, Canon Communications, Xtreme Information, Hanley Wood, PBI Media, and Mediatel. Previously, he served as a director of The Official Information Company, Centaur Communications, Data Transmission Network, Birch Telecommunications, ITE Group, Pepcom, Yellow Book USA, Rifkin Acquisition Partners, Triax Midwest Associates, Broadcasting Partners Holdings, Spectrum Resources Towers, PJS Publications, Kansas Broadcasting Systems, B&B Merger Corporation, Cable Management Ireland, International Media Partners, Hughes Broadcasting Partners, Triax Southeast Associates and Broadcasting Partners. Mr. Stevenson holds a BA from Rutgers College.
