Marvin L. Shapiro concentrates his activities on television and radio broadcasting and cable television. His many advisory transactions include the sale of KSTU-TV (Salt Lake City, UT) to Fox Television Stations, the sale of WICS-TV (Springfield, IL) to Guy Gannett Co., the sale of New Jersey Broadcasting Partners to Greater Media, Odyssey Partners' acquisition of WPCQ-TV (Charlotte, NC) and the formation of Queen City Broadcasting (WKBW-TV, Buffalo, NY) and Telemundo Group. Additionally, Mr. Shapiro played a key role in the formation of Cable Management Ireland, Broadcasting Partners Holdings, and Spectrum Resources Towers, and served each as a director. Mr. Shapiro joined VSS in 1983 after 22 years at Westinghouse Broadcasting Company (Group W), where he was a director, member of the Executive Committee, and as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, was President-Station Group.
Mr. Shapiro graduated from Syracuse University with a BS degree and completed executive courses at Williams College and Columbia Business School. He served as both chairman and a director of the Television Bureau of Advertising and as a director of the Radio Bureau of Advertising.
